 Today as a extra task I create a self portrait using leaves. I pick
 some leaves off of my tree and use them to create a artwork.

Recount writing

 Today I finished my recount writing, I use a burger planner to organise the events, then finally write the recount.

Spooky season

 In the sprit of Halloween I made a mine craft jack'o lantern. I used orange concrete
 and red stone lamps for the eyes and mouth.

Ra'ui animation

 Today for reading I learn about Ra'ui. Ra'ui is put in a area to stop people fishing that spot. It is used to stop over fishing and save marine life. after reading a story about Ra'ui I ask myself some questions and go to find the answers. Below is a animation of me asking the questions to a marine scientist called Jacqueline Evans that was mentioned in the story.

Maths task - Tessellation

 Today my topic for maths is Tessellation. I learn that Tessellation is a shape that fit together perfectly, and that triangles, squares, and hexagons are the 3 basic shapes for Tessellation. Today I learn how to make my own Tessellation and write down the meaning to Tessellation in my own words.

Tessellation is something new iv'e learnt, and I find that it is used in the real world too!

Recount writing progress

 This weeks focus is recount writing, I first learn the success criteria to making a good recount, and then I note down the times i'm responsible. After, I put them in order. 

Disconnect day - Card games!

 Today me and my brother played a card game called monopoly deal. We did a game and I won!

How you win: get three sets. To get a set get 3 cards that are the same colour to get one set.
 

Niuean/Cook island language week - music

 Today I make music using the things I have. I found a wooden stool and a mini drum to use. I also followed a video and make some awesome beats.

Obstacle course

 Today's PE task was to create an obstacle course and do it. I got creative and used some washing racks to make a simple course

I first ran over a little ledge then ran through two clothing racks and crawled underneath one to jump through another clothing rack and finally do 5 jumping jacks.

This was surprising that I was able to use random things to create something. I thought I was going to have a hard time making a obstacle course.

Reading - Ina and the shark

 Today's reading task was to learn about the story of Ina and the shark. 

The task was to create a vessel for Ina to use when going on the journey.

How would you design a vessel? Would it have a stabiliser or not?

The story goes, Ina and the god of the sea fell in love but they lived so far away that they could never see each other. But one day Ina decided to go the long journey across the sea, first little fishes guided her at the reefs edge where they would no longer be able to help. Ina then got a shark to carry her the rest of the way but she got so hungery she smashed a coconut she brought with her for food on the sharks head. The shark was in pain and left Ina. The god of the sea Tinirau could sense Ina was in danger and asked Tekea the great white shark to rescue Ina and bring her the rest of the way.

Tivaevae digital drawing

 For today's math, my task is to create a digital Tivaevae art using rotation, translation, reflection, and resize.

This was so fun! I turned a original design and made it into 3 other different ones.

Tivaevae paper art

 Today for my task I made art with paper!

I first took two pieces of coloured paper and made them into squares, then cut out a design on one of them and glued it to the other.

This was so fun to make! I didn't actually have coloured paper so painted a piece of paper purple to make it.

What would you do? Would yours have purple like mine or a different colour?

Stay home poster - psa

 Today my task is to create a stay home poster/ psa, I used canva to make it and hopefully get people to stay home.

I hope this makes you feel more cautious when going outdoors. It has been a great learning experience!

 Today I learn cook island greetings, I learn to say hello, how are you, I am fine, and how are you.

Being responsible at the beach

 For writing today I learn about how to be responsible at the beach. And how to stay safe. I use that knowledge to create a poster about saving the environment.

I think this is a great reminder that taking care of the environment is important. This was a great learning experience.

Niuean/Cook island - Tivaevae (Quiz)

 Today my task for reading was to make a Tivaevae quiz! I first learn about Tivaevae and fun facts about it to make a quiz!

I have enjoyed this task, not only do I get to learn about Tivaevae I get to make something out of it!

Maths task

 Today for my maths task, we're learning about Transformation, reflection, rotation, and translation.

I use this new tool called a geoboard to create a reflection of a unfinished shape. The white lines are the original shape and the purple lines is my reflection of it. The Gray line is the line of symmetry. Below is a photo of my work.

I also learnt about the order of rotation, which is something new to me. you find how many sides it looks the same to the the original by rotating it.

Chinese language week 5 - Games

 Today for Chinese language week, I learn about Chinese games and how to play them. 

One Chinese game I learnt is called Mahjong, you have it laid out like this. the cards are random.

Basically you need to find pairs but you can only pair the ones that have a free side. Below is a video of me playing it.
