Cybersmart challenge - Replying to comments

 Today I did another Cybersmart challenge, this time is was how to write a quality reply to comments. I use the structure Thank you, answer, and question.

Cybersmart challenge

 Today I do a Cybersmart challenge that focuses on fact checking the information we see. I complete some slides and find out which sites are reliable and non reliable.

Arts - recreating scenes

 This week my task is to recreate a scene from a movie or image. I chose a image of Riley from inside out sitting at a table.

When doing this i found out that it takes a lot of creativity, I put my chrome book on a chair and put my book on a upside down basket.

Wrting - kindness

This week for writing my task is to write ways to be kind to other people and why it's important. There's also a video I had to watch and write a summary of it. 

This is a great way to know how to be kind to people, it was also a great learning experience.

Maths - solvemoji

 This week for maths I am learning algebra, I learn how to use BEDMAS and how to identify hidden numbers. In the slides I have made my own solvemoji's, try to figure them out.

Reading strategies

This week  for reading I learn different reading strategies using a website  called into the book. On a slide I write down what each reading strategy is and a example. 

This slide was a great way to remember different reading strategies, this was also a great way to learn reading strategies.

Minecraft - Te whare Tapa wha

 Today I created My whare Tapa wha in Minecraft, I first refresh my memory on what is Te whare Tapa wha and then use my paper one to help me create my Minecraft one. Below is a video of me showing it.

Writing - scratch: how to make a quality blog comment

 Today for a part of writing I make a "how to make a quality blog comment" on scratch. 

This took a lot of time and effort to make I made a lot of mistakes and had to fix them. I hope you like the video.

Reading

 Today, another part of reading was to read a text and screen record it, so that's what I did, I read the story "Not so normal". There are two recordings because i can only screen castifiy for 5 min.

The tasks for this week

 Today the tasks for this week are exciting, for reading I learn different strategies when reading. 

For writing I learn to make a quality blog post. 

For maths I learn about how shapes can vary.

Homemade beads

 Today I'm going to show you how to make homemade beads!

You will need:

- Coloured paper (you can paint a gradient of colours on paper)

- scissors

- glue

- pencil

- tooth pick

- ruler

Step 1.

using your ruler and pencil make a long thin line that get gradually smaller.Like this.

Step 2.

Cut it out

Step 3.

Grab your tooth pick and put it in a rolling position on the back side.

Step 4.

put glue on the back side and roll it. Look at the video is you are confused.

Disconnect day

 Today for disconnect-ed I make a butterfly out of paper. Below is a video of me showing you how to make it.

PE - bonding activities

 Today for PE I create five different bonding activities that you could do with your family or friends.

1. Play some board games. Find some board games you have in your house and play it with your family.

2. Create leaf art. Find some leaves or sticks in your backyard and have fun making unique art.

3. Create some jewellery. Find some string and beads and put them together.

4. Make a scavenger hunt. You and your friend could each make a scavenger hunt for each other. 

5. Create a game together and play it. Using collaboration make a unique game.

Reading

 Today for reading I complete some slides about making connections. I learn to make connection using text to self, text to text, and text to world.

I learnt that making connections is fun to relate it to something and it makes you think more about the story.

Writing - Fireworks

 Today, I learn about descriptive writing and use it to write about fireworks. I work on some slides and use a burger planner and a mind map to help me create the piece of writing.

I think that this writing piece  was great! And was a great learning experience.

What do you think I could have improved on? Or what do you think I could've changed?

Maths

 For today's maths, I put the tasks on a slide to complete them. The tasks are about symmetry, reflection and rotation. There's a reflection tasks in one of the slides which you can do yourself.

This was a great fun task to do, I had to think hard on them.

Reading - article writing

 Today for reading I Read a PDF called "News for you" and complete some slides. In the slides I make connections, evaluate, summarise, and do a article writing.

Writing a article is something new to me, I struggled a bit but got through it.

Science - Condensation

 Today I did a science experiment when I put a cold cover on boiling water. There were also some slides for the task.

Activities for Taha wairua

 Today for health/PE my task is to create five activities for my Taha wairua.

1. Spiritual: for this you first laydown on the grass and breath deeply. Then sit in the sun and enjoy the warmth. Next, do five deep breaths.

2. Physical: Get on your bikes and go for a ride, enjoy the nature and the surroundings around you. After, do some basic exercises like jumping jacks, and then walk slowly around your back yard for a cool down.

3. Mental: do something quiet, read a book in the corner for 20 minutes. Then do some drawing, draw what your feeling, and then, lay down and have a rest.

4. land, roots: Go and take care of your pets or plants, play are with them. Next, sit in your favourite area and admire the view. Next, you can sit in your backyard and feel the grass.

5. Family and social: Have a chat with someone in your bubble, and talk to them for a while. Next, talk to some of your friends online and have a conversation with them. After, help someone doing chores in your bubble.

That is 3 ways to look after each of your Taha wairua.

Diwali - Five days of Diwali

 This week Diwali is happening, I learn about the five days of Diwali and how they celebrate them. Each day is something special, the first day is worship of wealth, the second day is small Diwali and the third is the main diwali festival. The fourth day is Bali padyami and the fifth is the love between brothers and sisters.

Rangoli patterns

 Today in the theme of diwali I made rangoli patterns using a geoboard. I look through
a video of geoboard rangoli patterns and took some inspiration to make the image below.

This was so fun! It took me some time to make this so I hope you enjoy.

Maths - transformations rubix cube

 Today maths I use transformations on a rubix cube. I reflect it, turn it 270 degrees and 180 degrees and also enlarge it.
