Puzzle story

 Our class was set a task were you had to write a story, but being creative. You could put it in a different form to be creative so I put it in a puzzle form. I used a cardboard piece  for the base so it could be sturdy, then glued on paper to make the design.

There is a story on it but sadly you can't see it so I have written the story here.

Story:

I had only a few left to go, I had been working on this puzzle for a day straight. I had to get it done. I fumbled with the few pieces in my rough hands and put my thinking face on. I turned and rearranged the pieces about a thousand times, until click in went a piece. I smiled proudly, but remembering I wasn't done I carried on. Suddenly the pieces went in like magic, after the first piece went in the rest fell in as if it was destined.

Marble maze

 Today my class and I made maze's using the material in our house, here is mine which I made using the lid of a shoe box for the base then some cardboard to make the obstacles.

You start at the top where the marble is and then you rotate the board to move the marble all the way to the bottom.

It is a very easy maze if I can call it that, and so you can make it too!

Instructional writing - Ready for back to school!

 This week, the focus is instructional writing. We learn how to give instructions to complete something and that we use present tense in instructional writing.

Maths task finished

 I have finally finished the task and after the update I realised that I have done some things wrong and have changed them.

I am quite happy with the result and it has sure been a journey. The activity was fun, and it was interesting to use the graph making tool.

Today's daily writing task we are still learning about descriptive writing and how to make your writing interesting.

This time it's Beef Nachos, which I never had but i'm sure it tastes good.

I also like this writing because like before you get to use interesting words and use figurative writing.

Today for daily writing task we use descriptive language to show not tell an image, we find the five senses are helpful to make an interesting writing piece. Here is my descriptive writing for popcorn.

I enjoyed doing this task as i could use interesting words and describe in a unique way that can help the reader really imagine whats going on.

New Maths Task Update

I am still learning about statistics but his time the task is focusing about the types of graphs there are and how to use them, I have looked at many graphs and have written about them. I also made the graphs in the picture using the graph making tool which was really fun! Here is the work I have done

 We have been learning about expressing emotions by showing and not telling. We use our five senses and go into more detail about whats happening.

I like this writing because it shows someones feelings in an interesting way rather than saying something like "I am sad" which is boring so extending it and adding more unique words help make the writing more interesting.

Cyber smart challenge

 Challenge: Tidy Drive

Today I have done a cyber smart challenge of tidying my drive, we learn putting learning into folders keeps the drive tidy and renaming it by deleting "copy of" and putting your name there instead.

 I dug quickly and then my shovel hit something hard, a smile spread across my face as I heaved the lump of dirt out of the way with my shovel. As I began carving out the hole I wondered if I should be doing this, my parents only came here to buy something from the treasure shop underground which I thought was quite weird.

One time I came with my metal detector so it could keep me busy while my mother shops, and here it beeped in this very spot I was digging, my parents didn't believe there was treasure when I told them, but I knew there must be something there and I was determined to find it, it was fated for me.

Soon I revealed a bark trap door underneath and I began to feel a bit queasy. Mixed emotions filled my stomach, what would be under it? I felt unsure about this now that I was seeing it for real, but I gathered all my strength and opened it. Lose dirt slid through the opening as I looked down to see the receptionist of the treasure shop get covered in dirt. I knew I was done for.

In class we have maths task that are set for us, we analyse data and notice and wonder.  We look at graphs, charts and statistics.

Update on Maths

 I have been working on my maths task this week which we write notices and wonders about graphs. I haven't finished it yet, I have only done slide 1&2 of the task but here is my progress.

Olympic

 This morning my teacher put up the Olympics for us to see.We looked at gymnastics and how they used motion, force, timing and I thought how creative using their body to show a beautiful image, art. I Then wondered how much time they spent practising their moves and the feelings they they had when preforming.

Next up was "Women's swimming (breath stroke)"

all the women came to introduce themselves then set off to their lane. It was interesting to see the speed they went and what knowledge they knew to break past the water and keep moving.

After, we saw a bit of rowing and talked about what part of their body that needed the most strength, I thought it was their arms, since they row with them but then I saw how they were moving and maybe thought their thighs also.

Holiday Recount

 The term holiday had finally arrived, coming at us with chilly weather. At the beginning I honestly thought my family and I wouldn't do much, but that ended up being false.

My family and I went to various places including mini golf, roller skating, rock climbing, and time zone, it was so much fun!

School has started, I already miss all the fun times in the holidays like when we went rock climbing and rollerskating, it was the most exciting two weeks, but it had already ended.
